I have chosen this artist model to incorporate a figure of a Maori woman to represent papatuanuku. Carla is a sculpture artist that uses the mediums of clay and ceramics. Carla is well known for her series of works 'Maori angel series'. An idealized woman that has a tall, flowing female form.

Carla represents whakapapa through the inspiration from her Maori, European background. She is inspired by her ancestral heritage.
