I have chosen Reina Cottier to be one of my inspirations because she uses ocean themes in her works. I am going to incorporate the use of whales, swordfish, stingrays, grouper, and dolphins in my exhibition piece. This is a reference to the narrative of the seven whales. It was the whale's duty to be out in the ocean by dawn to feed, and to collect information from all the fish in the sea. 

 

Reina's uses whakapapa in her works as she uses inspiration around her, from landscapes to the ocean.
